USLBA Executive Board Message

Libya Business Association is partnering with the Libyan Reconstruction and Development Fund (LDRF), under the leadership of Mr. Belkassem Hifter, to co-host the second Libyan–American Forum for Development and Reconstruction in Benghazi in February 2026.

This year’s gathering builds on the success of the inaugural event in Washington, D.C., where Libyan and American partners signed numerous memoranda of understanding, advanced priority projects, and set a renewed roadmap for commercial cooperation. Convening again in Libya reflects a shared commitment to transforming that momentum into concrete progress by
fulfilling MOUs, finalizing contracts, and accelerating implementation across key sectors.

Hosting the forum in Benghazi carries special significance. It underscores growing confidence in Libya’s economic trajectory, the readiness of institutions and companies to deepen their engagement, and the belief that commercial partnerships across all regions of Libya contribute meaningfully to long-term stability and development. The U.S. Libya Business Association remains committed to the principle that strong economic ties are essential to advancing prosperity and reinforcing bilateral relations. This forum creates an important platform to translate commitments into action, strengthen partnerships, support reconstruction priorities, and demonstrate the tangible value of U.S. Libya cooperation. Participants can expect focused discussions on project delivery, investment facilitation, institutional capacity building, and sustainable commercial partnerships across infrastructure, technology, healthcare, agriculture, and other critical sectors. The forum aims to help unlock the next chapter of U.S. Libyan collaboration, one defined not only by agreements signed, but by projects realized and impact delivered. We look forward to working together at this pivotal stage to advance Libya’s reconstruction and deepen cooperation between our nations.
